Use Instructions
Installation: 2 lbs. (0.9kg) & less, D-Ring Models FTS-80100, FTS-80101, FTS-80103 (D-Rings A,B,C):
Step 1: Cut off a strip of Toolsaver Drop Prevention Tether Tape long enough to wrap a minimum of 6 times around the location where the D-Ring will be installed. Remove the plastic liner from the tape. While maintaining moderate tension on the tape, install one full wrap of the tape approximately 1 inch from the desired D-Ring location. (Figure 1)
Step 2: Place the D-Ring webbing with the flat side against the tool (tab facing up) on the first wrap of tape. (Figure 2)
Step 3: While maintaining moderate tension on the tape, wrap at least 5 wraps in line with each other over the D-Ring webbing. (Figure 3)
Step 4: After the connection to the tool is complete (Figure 4), test the connection to confirm secure installation.
Installation: 5lbs (2.3kg) & less, D-Ring Models FTS-80102 & FTS-80112 (D-Rings D, E):
Step 5: Cut off a strip of Toolsaver Drop Prevention Tether Tape long enough to wrap a minimum of 11 times around the location where the D-Ring will be installed. Remove the plastic liner from the tape. While maintaining moderate tension on the tape, install one full wrap of the tape approximately 2-3 inches from the desired D-Ring location. (Figure 5)
Step 6: Place the D-Ring webbing with the flat side against the tool (tab facing up) on the first wrap of tape. (Figure 6)
Step 7: While maintaining moderate tension on the tape, wrap the first 5 wraps in line with each other over the D-Ring webbing. Use a 6th wrap to cross over the installed tape and follow with 4 more wraps over the D-Ring webbing adjacent to the first 5 wraps. (Figure 7)
Step 8: After the connection to the tool is complete (Figure 8), test the connection to confirm secure installation.
Installation: 5lbs (2.3kg) to 35lbs (15.9kg) & 35lbs (15.9kg) to 80lbs (36.3kg) V-Ring Models FTS-80300, FTS-80301, FTS-80302, FTS-80303 (V-Rings G,H,I):
The V-Rings are the load bearing part of this tool anchor point. The stabilization wings where the Toolsaver Tether Tape is to be installed function only to hold the V-Ring in place on the tool. Install Toolsaver Tether Tape as instructed above in the 2lbs instructions & apply to each wing.
After Use
After use, if the D-Ring and tape are to remain in place, clean the Tether Tape, D-Ring and connected tool or equipment of surface dirt, corrosives or contaminants. Store in a clean and dry environment, free from fumes or corrosive elements. Proper care of safety equipment helps to ensure that it will operate effectively, safely and extend its service life. If the tape and D-Ring are to be removed, cut the tape, and inspect the D-Ring prior to returning it to Drop Prevention tool storage.
